Mountainfest - What is it all about?
Mountainfest is the largest annual outdoor country music concert in Canada. It takes place on private land just southwest of the B.C. town of Merritt (pop. ~10,000). Hundreds of thousands of patrons have visited the festival. Mountainfest's popularity continues to grow as we host the highest caliber of country entertainment around. The festival has been home to some of the biggest names in country music: Tim McGraw, Johnny Cash, Lonestar, Alan Jackson, the Dixie Chicks, Brooks & Dunn, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Michelle Wright...and the list goes on.

Why become a Mountainfest Volunteer ?
Volunteering is the fuel that drives a festival's engine. As a volunteer you will be part of a diverse team, with one common goal ... to make this year's Mountainfest the best festival yet!
How to become a Mountainfest Volunteer ?
Volunteering Requirements:
To volunteer is both a great privilege and responsibility, so to qualify you must meet certain requirements:
- You must be 19 years of age to volunteer.
- We do allow minors (must be 16 years or older) to volunteer only if they are accompanied by a parent/guardian of legal age volunteering with them. Parents/guardians must be willing to volunteer for the same shifts as the minor.
- Volunteering privileges are subject to the discretion and approval of the Volunteer Coordinator.
- All volunteers must submit a Volunteer Application/ Registration Form or call Kimberly 604-657-4376
- All volunteers must arrive NO LATER THAN 9:00 Pm on the Wednesday of the festival week in order to be assigned their 4 shift commitment.

What volunteer positions are available to sign up for ?
- Our volunteer staff is involved with many aspects of the festival operations ranging from promotional material distribution and admissions, traffic control, to serving and clean-up, including everything in between. A little hard work, a whole lot of fun & team spirit are the recipe for success since the festival began. We look forward to working with all of you to continue that tradition!

How many shifts are volunteers required to work ?
- Volunteers are required to complete a minimum of 4 shifts to fulfill the volunteer requirements.
- All shifts are assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Each volunteer shift is equivalent to 8 hours in length.
- Volunteer shifts begin the Sunday prior to the first official day of the festival at 9:00 AM and are scheduled through to the evening of following Sunday, the night of the closing ceremonies.
- There is a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY towards volunteers under the influence of drugs and /or alcohol while on shift. Failure to comply will result in a loss of all volunteer privileges and immediate surrender of wristband and expulsion from the festival.
- Volunteers are PROHIBITED to wear Mountainfest Festival Volunteer T-shirts when not on a shift.
What is the process and how are volunteers chosen ?
- All prospective volunteers must submit a completed Volunteer Application Form to the Mountainfest Office.
- All application forms are reviewed by members of the Mountainfest Volunteer Coordinating Team.
- All volunteer applicants will be contacted by phone by a member of the Volunteer Coordinating Team to review your application and requested positions. We will also answer any questions you may have about volunteering as well as general questions about the festival.
- It is at the discretion of the Volunteer Coordinating Team that volunteers meet the Mountainfest volunteer requirements.
What does Mountainfest provide to volunteers ?
Most of all, Mountainfest provides you with 4 fun-filled days of the best country music imaginable!
Volunteers receive the following:
- Volunteers are provided a designated seating area in Reserved Seating to watch all main stage performances
- The volunteer campground is located in a designated area located in campground 7 along the Coldwater River- All volunteers are assigned a numbered volunteer camping sticker.
- A box lunch is provided during each shift worked.
- An outline of the job description for the assigned position and a work schedule.
- One on-site wristband per shift worked, allowing you onto the show grounds for each day. Wristbands will be handed out on a per show-day basis, regardless of whether all volunteering time has been fulfilled. No exceptions.
- 2 festival volunteer shirts - to be worn at all times when on shift. Volunteers are prohibited to wear Festival Volunteer shirts when not on shift.

Active Mountain Entertainment Management appreciates the donation of your valuable time, hard work and dedication to assist in making Mountainfest a success. Volunteers are invited to the Volunteer Appreciation & Festival Wrap Up Party that takes place Sunday at 8:00 PM following the closing ceremonies of the festival. All volunteers attending the party are entered into a draw for a chance to win a door prize and will be issued 2 beverage tickets. Light snacks will be provided.
