Mountainfest has the honour of being named the Canadian Country Music Festival of the year! It is the one of the largest events of its kind in Canada and is recognized throughout North America for the caliber of country music and quality of the experience. Every July, this amazing four day outdoor event takes place in sunny, picturesque Merritt, B.C. The beauty of the surrounding HooDoo’s (clay cliff’s), the gently flowing Coldwater River and the rolling landscape is proudly home to the spectacular Merritt Mountain Music Festival - Mountainfest. Since its inception in 1993, this festival has grown into more than just great music - it's an annual event where people come to meet others, see new things, hear great country music and where many lasting friendships are cultivated.

In 2002, at the 10th anniversary, the event was host to over 125,000 patrons over a six day event. In 2005, there were over 145,000 patrons. This event provides a spectacular outdoor recreational week of the best that country music has to offer, together with a family atmosphere for fun and friendly get-togethers. This event brings people back year after year!

The show grounds, surrounded by acres of beautiful camping areas, are host to a large beverage garden complete with picnic tables, two serving areas, canvas shelters, overhead lighting, big screen TV’s and The Pumphouse Saloon stage. Numerous vendors, food concessions, The Little Big Stage, the famous Mountainfest Main Stage, a VIP area, general stores, first aid, security and administration buildings dot the show grounds.

Non-stop country music performances excite thousands of people daily on three fabulous stages! Over the years, Mountainfest has been host to the best of the best in country music. Great music has always been the hallmark of Mountainfest, but there’s more…a multitude of activities, helicopter sightseeing, nightly fireworks displays, food and merchandise vendors and so much more.

Mountainfest 2008 brings a new era to the festival to enhance the experience of the festival. New this year will be a Breakfast Buffet, dining by the river at the River Bend and a river walk to name a few.

So get in on the time of your life! Four days of continuous country good times…the place to be this summer – Mountainfest! Come for the music….stay for the experience!
